October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month
Here at the Killeen Police Employee Association we feel it is our duty and privilege to help spread the word. This year alone over 250,000 women in our country will be diagnosed with the disease. It is the most common cancer among women worldwide.   These facts are not meant to terrify. They are the truth and why must we take it so seriously. But the news is not solely negativ...

Join Us In Making a Difference in our Community, Donate Today!

IMG_1141
I would like to thank you for your support of the men and women of the Killeen Police Employee Association who protect and serve us every day.
When an employee suffers an unexpected life event and their family needs support, WE are there. Our Association provides the necessary support to assist our employees when a major event occurs. We also successfully established a Peer Support group to assist with critical incidents and personal issues that typically arise in a law enforcement setting. We stand by our officers and their families in times of need, and we are hoping you will stand side-by-side with us as partners. That’s why I am asking for your Help!

Your generous donation will also help us support our community through programs like community outreach, families in need, and other worthy causes. This past year alone, we have been able to provide Thanksgiving meals, Christmas gifts, conduct clothing drives for school children and many more events to support the members of our community which can be viewed on our Facebook page.

Give us the support we need to make a difference in the
lives of those who need it most!

Being a civilian does NOT exclude you from our law enforcement family!

Thank YOU for your donation, time and committed support!
Highest Regards,

Can’t wait to have you as a brother in law enforcement, Jacob! Check out the video here!

The State of Policing in America Reported by MSNBC

MSNBC
Most of us get up in the morning. go about our days and never think about our local law enforcement officers, unless we hear another negative story on the news.  There is a perception that there are a lot of bad cops out there.  However the reality is that 99.1% of Law Enforcement officers are NOT accused of any misconduct of any kind.    In 2015, 965 civilians were fatally shot by officers, this kind of situation gets the media’s attention, understandably. Enhancing teachers’ response to active threats

Enhancing teachers’ response to active threats
When you say the words “first responders” who comes to mind? Police, Fireman, EMT? But what about teachers? It is no longer adequate to place all of the responsibility for our children’s safety in the hands of our teachers during an attack and not take the time to properly train them to accomplish that task. Nor is it acceptable to simply tell them, "Lock your classroom door, turn out the lights, hide in a corner and pray that the attacker doesn’t pick your room." Today, the nation’s law enforce...
